Tote Betting explained – The Exacta and Trifecta
If you’ve made your horse betting picks and you fancy a particular finishing order for your two horses, a straight Exacta is the bet to that would suit. If you want to cover all bases, a reverse Exacta means you’ll be successful if your chosen horses finish first and second in the either order.
There may be times, especially in races with big competitive fields that contain many runners with good chances, when you feel picking two horses may not be enough. You fancy three or four horses but are unsure which ones to pick. The answer lies with a Combination Exacta.

Betting Guru
Tote Punters can pick as many horses as you like with a combination exacta. We’ll base the following on three horses, to show how many winning lines would be possible, when choosing a combination Exacta, with three selections.
The Trifecta works inthe same way as the Exacta, above, only it requires the first three selections in that order, or combination. Due to there being more combnations involved with three selections, the bet outlay does result in a higher stake.
For example, choosing four horses in your Combination Trifecta would mean your bet would include 24 bets. However, Tote have reduced the minimum stake for the Trifecta to just 1p per line! The total minimum stake is now 50p. This means those big combinations don’t have to be too expensive!
